The Proposal

The Proposal: A Moment as Meaningful as Your Wedding

The Proposal

The proposal to your life partner should feel just as personal and intimate as your wedding day itself. After all, this is the story you’ll tell for years to come. While proposal ideas are vast and creative—entire websites are dedicated to helping you plan the perfect one—what matters most is that it feels genuine and unforgettable.

Although every relationship is unique, one thing often remains consistent: the element of surprise. Most proposals catch the recipient completely off guard, which makes the experience even more emotional. Because of this, we’re especially skilled at helping you set the perfect scene without raising suspicion.

We Help You Plan a Seamless and Memorable Proposal

With us, the idea is beautifully simple. Since we operate a full-time fishing charter, your partner will think you’ve simply booked a relaxing day on the water. Unless we decorate the boat like we do for a micro wedding, your loved one will likely have no clue that a proposal is coming. For instance, you can suggest a casual outing for flounder fishing, salmon trolling, or even an eco-tour around Puget Sound.

Let me share how I proposed to Jennifer.

my proposal to Jennifer

One sunny afternoon, I called her after work. I asked if she wanted to go fishing—it was too nice to waste the day indoors. She agreed, and since her Seattle office was just 15 minutes away, we met at the marina. I had already stashed the ring on the boat and prepped the fishing gear. We set off toward West Point, which offers stunning views of downtown Seattle.

At first, we fished for flounder. After about 30 minutes, Jennifer suggested we switch gears and fish for salmon on the return trip. I agreed and began changing out the rods, but this time with a little more on my mind.

The Proposal: A Story You’ll Share Forever

Our Engagement

While she stood on the port side admiring the Seattle skyline, I placed the ring box in my back pocket. Then I got down on one knee. As she excitedly urged me to “Come on, let’s fish for salmon!” I responded, “I’m trying to ask you a question.”

Her face lit up. “Oh crap!” she blurted out, instantly making us both laugh.

I asked, she said yes, and that moment became one we’ll never forget. Even better, we continued the day fishing for salmon. A little rain rolled in, but we didn’t care—we still caught fish, and we had a story to cherish forever.
